What do we make of machines that talk?

As the idea of conversational interfaces increasingly gets adopted and normalized in our daily lives and mundane tasks, let’s take a step back and think about what it takes to ‘design a conversation’. The workshop intends to reflect and speculates on the future of vocal and text-based interfaces, approaching them from a critical and philosophical lens and meandering into the spaces of design fiction. A discursive format will allow free range discussions and exercises to unpack the nuances of machines that talk!

This workshop mashes up design thinking, systems design and lean principles to help Designers go from ideation to realization. What’s more important, it’s focused on influencing business (or other) outcomes!

This is an experiential and hands-on workshop on problem identification, validation and solving.

Aditya has been looking at Data and trying to fold in learnings at several of the design-saavy startups he’s worked in. This workshop covers

• motivations for looking at data
• how designers and product managers look at data differently
• how to be data-guided and not data-blinded
• tools and methods to collect, analyse data
• practical frameworks for understanding data
• making data actionable

Using extremely versatile and unconventional Origami folding techniques, the workshop rekindles the joy of craftsmanship and fires lateral thinking in the participants. Ankon is one of India’s leading Origami artists known for his massive paper-engineered gravity-defying structures.

Working with hands and manipulating structure, material and geometries manually, strengthens neural networks and fires brain-centers which otherwise remain dormant and untapped. This is part of our Analog Workshop Series!
